Labyrinth
What is A labyrinth?
A labyrinth is a patterned walking path. Unlike a maze, a labyrinth has just one path to its centre and the same path leads back out. This singular, circular path requires the walker to watch where the path leads and slow down, both physically and mentally.
St. John’s Labyrinth
Labyrinths of many different designs and sizes have been discovered in ancient cultures all around the world, the earliest from 3,500 BC. The pattern of our labyrinth is a Seven-Circuit Cretan Labyrinth.
St. John’s labyrinth is open annually from May - September. Watch the parish calendar for information about the official opening and closing dates each season.
